In this video I was able to change the notes for the left hand side so that it will be a mixture of sound so that it wont be plain to play it. Even though I finished editing the notes for the left hand side, I was able to play my song abit smoothly. I just need to start focusing more on the notes that are gonna be played on left hand side.

in this video i played my diatonic composition and i was able to play it smoothly and I haven't made any changes yet but I will try to put some more articulation and some dynamic in it once everything is done. But for now, I will try to improve my left hand first because it isnt that good and it doesnt match with the notes on g clef.

In this video I did my first attempt on playing my diatonic composition. it was hard for me to play it with left hand because that was the day when i made my composition. I'll try to improve it more and I'll try to change some of the notes as well so that it wont be hard for me to play it.

This is a video of me practicing my chosen song Valse Op.64 No.2 by Chopin again .And this time, even though I've made some mistakes in the middle part, I was still able to play the whole song. And at lest I tried my best. I need to improve the articulation and the dynamic of the song so that it will sound better.

This is me practicing the 1/2 diminished chord on the piano. I had to play the other chords as well. At first I was kind of stuck, but eventually I got the hang of it and it went pretty well.

27 August 2012, Monday

Today the other groups presented their presentation about the different musical genres during theory class. The groups that presented their work today was the group that did classical music. My group wasn't able to present our presentation because 2 of my team members in the group were not here. 

During instrument class, I played a classical piece that I am going to play on October. 

28 August 2012, Tuesday

Today I was able to present my presentation because Vincent was here except for Ananda. We did a presentation about pop/rock. We did pretty well and we also gave music samples. Other groups also presented their presentation and these groups were rock and roll and jazz. 

There wasn't any instrument class today because we took that time to do the presentations. 

29 August 2012, Wednesday

Today during theory class we learnt about music notations. We learnt about upbeats, tied notes, and the different time signatures. Now I know that tied notes means that you add the note values together, playing them as if they were one note. 

During instrument class, I continued playing my classical piece that I'm going to play on October. I have 2 choices. It's either I play that, or the other classical piece. I still haven't thought about it yet.

In theory class, I wasnt able to present my powerpoint presentation because my team mates; Ananda and Vincent is still on vacation so I think its either im going to present it on tuesday or wednesday. In instrument class we only practiced the song that we're going to play on October.

In theory class, we discussed about the criteria and the objctives. Alot of people didnt come today so most of them arent going to present their powerpoint slide presentation. Well today im not going to present because two of my members didnt come but Mr Herry let us to be present our powerpoint presentation after lebaran because Vincent told Mr Herry that he's going somewhere on his vacation.

Today we didnt have any instrument class because it was our assessment day for singing. And I was the last one to sing and at first i was quite nervous because i didnt really practice the last night before the assessment day. My singing assessment went pretty well. Even though I didnt reach the higher notes but it doesnt matter. At least the assessments are done and it was a relief.

In theory class, everyone sang our own chosen song for the assessment next week. But I didnt, because even though I know what song that im going play, i still dont remember the chords and some of the lyrics. We didnt go to our separate instrument classes because there was no time.

Today in theory class, we only did 2 things actually. We all did the notation quiz. And the next thing we did was discussing with out own groups and we had to say what we know and what we want to know about western music genre infron of the class.

In instument class, I played the new chord which was 1/2 diminished chord and I had to play the other chords as well.

Today in theory class I did pretty much the same thing as last week. I performed and sang the song called Bagi Mu Negri and it went pretty well actually. And after that I hadti choose a groop member and I chose Ananda and Vincent.

1 August 2012, Wednesday

Today in theory class, Mr. Herry gave us some book examples that is about Western Music Genres and those book were made from the previous students during 2010. He gave us that book because he wants us to get some ideas about western music genre for the powerpoint presentation and we had to choose 4 members to be in each group. We all havent planned it out yet though.

In instrument class, I did the minor scales and I did all the white keys. I did pretty okay because I didn't really practice for this, i only remembered the fingers and the notes so thats why I didn't make alot of mistakes. For next week's assignment, I have to plan which one am i going to choose for the group powerpoint presentation and also I have to practice the minor 7th, 7th chord and some sort of diminished scales and it has to be done by next week.

Today in theory class we sang a song called Bagi Mu Negri and we sang one by one and it was just a rehearsal and i was a bit nervous but Thank God I practiced the song yesterday. Today is the 2nd week of school and im still new to the new environment kind of thing that we have in our new music class because most of the students are new and i dont know them well yet. In instrument class, I played the minor scales and major 7th chord. I played it quite well.

this was last week on 25 May 2012, we did really well during the rehearsal but Yohanes made a mistake in the beginning and at the end, but it's all good. We were really synchronized in this video.

this is the 2nd time practice for our composition. We made a careless mistake and we'll try to practice hard.

28 May 2012, Monday

Today is our last music class, the class was split into our different groups and put in different rooms. But before that, during instrument class, we had a talk about the MDW, Mr John said we must submit it on monday. We were also told to finish updating our journal, and our blog as well. I also need to upload y videos to put it on the blog. Which takes pretty long to upload it since my internet is very slow. My group and I decided to meet up and practice a couple of times before our big day on the 8th of June 2012. On friday.

Today in instrument class, we continued practicing our compositions. They decided to split the class into different music rooms so we can focus better. Yohanes had some difficulties in his part so I tried to help him out. When we tried playing the whole song, it sounded good but it wasn't synchronized so if we could practice again from the beginning, i'm sure our synchronization will be better than this. 

21 May 2012, Monday

Today in instrument class, we made a few changes in the first few bars of the song. There was something wrong with the cello part in our song so we changed it and we tried it out again. We found out that the counting needs to be changed. We practiced many times today as a group and I think we improved our team work today.

On last wednesday after school, we practiced together in the 4th floor guitar room and we are now completely finished with our song. Our song was already put into a finale file. The teachers heard our finale song and they said that the notes that were supposed to be played with a guitar is too low so we are going to change that.

Today in instrument class, we had a collaboration with our group members and it went pretty well. Today's instrument class were combined with the other instruments as well.

Today we added new bars for our composition from 8 bars until 16 bars. It took me about half an hour to create the bars. I just need to practice more.

Today in music theory, we finished our 8 bars composition and I played with my group members to see if it matches with my melody that I made and turned out it did. It just needs a bit of arrangements and we're done.

Today in theory class we learned about the chords and we got to choose our own group for our assessment on may. my group members are myself, acaw, and blanka. i think this will be an interesting song. I have a good feeling about it. in instrument class, i learned about the left variation based on the chord and i think this will help me for my assessment.

Today in theory class we practiced again our song called price tag for our music assessment on june. In instrument class we learned a new technique which is open position and close position.

In theory class, we practiced again the song called salut d'amour and also minuet. And apparently we've been working on the song for about 2 or 3 weeks now. And we have to get it done by next week because its our assessment next week and im sure we dont want to get a low score for our assessment. In instrument class, I practiced again and again. Its just like an energizer bunny. It just keeps going and going and it never stops!

In theory class, I did practice the salut d'amour and minuet with my classmates and we did pretty well. In instrument class we break down from part to part and practice for salut d'amour with Mr.Herry. I think I should practice more and improve my articulation and my dynamic.

In theory class we all practiced for the new song which is minuet so currently we all have 2 songs to practice for the assessment. And in instrument class, I practiced my minuet for the assessment. At first it was hard because I wasn't sure about the beat, and it was pretty confusing. But I think if i practice everyday. I can get the hang of it.

Today in theory class we practiced for the assessment notation quiz that we are going to have next week on monday. Its really fun but its kind of confusing at the same time. In instrument class, I played my chromatic scales again from tertz till sexte. I played it very well I must say. I have to practice more on my theory for the assessment on monday.

In theory class we talked about the scales again and we practiced and did an exercise of it for the notation test coming up this month. in instrument class i learned chromatic scale which is the sexte and octave. i was able to do the chromatic scale which is the tertz. and it was actually quite fun and interesting!

In theory class we discussed about what should we do for the romantic period presentation. Ronaldo, Yohanes Bryan and Hashfi put me in their group for the romantic period presentation. Its due in next 2 weeks! so stoked! In instrument class, i learned a new thing and its called tertz and it starts in chromatic scale. I've never learned that before. i was confusing at first but then eventually i got the hang of it! :)

In theory class we rehearse our song called Indonesia and that is for our assessment on friday which will be very exciting. it was so much fun in theory class by the way. In instrument class, i played my chromatic scales from parallel until contrary part and i played quite well. and Mr. Herry even taught me a new chromatic scale as well. He taught me the chromatic scale of terts (minor). At first it was pretty hard because i couldn't get the notes right and its pretty confusing. i just have to practice at home.

Today in theory class we sang Indonesian song which was very interesting and fun, and in instrument class i did the chromatic scale from parallel until contrary motion scale. its confusing and fun at the same time. at first the contrary part, i didn't do great because it was quite confusing and once i got the hang of it.
